Well, honestly I wouldn't be surprised if it still goes to Austin...but the hopeful side of me is rooting for Fiat getting the car to Albuquerque. :) Thanks Gavin |

I've had zero luck with FIATs 888 number. They are completely useless to me: They have no idea where the PE is, No idea of any delivery date, unable to EVER connect me to a manager as he or she "is in a meeting", my daily promised call back from the manager never happens. I inform them my PE has been in New Jersey for 3 weeks while it should be sent to Florida elicits no action. My dealer has their licence, they have no information and tell me to call FIAT. This is crazy and very frustrating.

I would suggest to contact your dealer and have them get in touch with their FIAT rep. They should be able to get you some more info and get the ball rolling so you can get your car. If the car is in transit then their hands are tied but if there are some other issues like dealer lic, window stickers, etc. maybe they can do something.

Well well well,,,I finally received a call from my dealership. We had a nice enough chat, but bottom line, it looks like at least another week. We both agree that it is sitting at the railyward in Philly. (less than 10 miles from the dealership). He doesn't really understand the holdup, but he did say that many people in the east are having the same issue. Anyone finding this to be true??? Oh well. Patience is a virtue...

Spoke with the dealer's rep today.
They got their license from the state on Monday, the 14th and have delivered one car so far, but not mine. But I was told I can expect it before the end of the month... 500-less in Seattle...

I have to agree. I followed Chris's blog for a long time (it was the first one I found with substantive information on the US 500) and was pleased when I learned of creation of the forum. It's been "home" to me ever since and I am glad to have a place to interact with fellow Fiat (Prima Edizione) enthusiasts. As I have mentioned before, I have learned so much from you all here (about Fiats specifically and cars in general!) and news of members here securing delivery of their PEs keeps me sustained until I am able to take the wheel of my very own! I went out to my local dealer yesterday for another test drive in the marketing demo--this time, all by myself, for about 12 miles or so. It renewed my excitement for the car and tempered my impatience on delivery of my own. I just need to hang on for a few more days now. The way I look at it, the PE is going to make a fabulous birthday (April 13) present to myself! ![]() ![]()

Turns out it was naive to think I was going to get my car this weekend. It's still sitting at the dealer. And I still cannot take delivery of it. We have to wait until they get their paperwork ini order which is who knows when. So my wife and I made the 2-hour round trip today to visit our car. There are actually three Primas sitting there including ours (#14) and Jody Farr's (#13). Here are some pix:

I've worked things out with the dealer so I will be taking delivery in about an hour in Ft Lauderdale instead of driving over to Sarasota in a few days to pick it up there.
My Volvo broke a couple of days ago and my old 500 is the only other driver I have this week. It's not the best daily driver for South Florida so this is a good thing. I'll take pics. |

2 primas have already been sold on eBay
And right now, 4 are on sale Seems like that's the place to go if you want quick delivery |
|
My dealer took mine that I walked from and put it on the showroom floor and is looking for a premium over list. Not sure how much, negotiable. The schtik is he says he's buying it for himself but would change his mine for the right offer.....

Of course he will ask for a premium
The 2 that sold so far on eBay went for over 26K That's $5-6K profit You should have done the same thing |
|
Nah. PIA and risky. If i wanted to make money that way I'd be in the business.
Paying a serious premium for a PE is a fools game IMO.

I have cancelled my car and also my husband cancelled his.
Not playing anymore. Arrigo dealer called and said they had the car there and wanted me to take delivery there. it was supposed to go to Sunset Fiat in Sarasota. They said that the fee had to be paid and I am not going to do that no matter what. I guess the take delivery at the dealer of your choice is allot of crap. |
