That is GREAT news, Gavin! You must be thrilled. I called CIAO FIAT this morning and, lo and behold, someone actually helped me! I spoke with Renee, who in turn contacted the dealership in Shreveport. I then got a call from the Fiat salesman. He said he would look into what's going on with their license and then he was going to contact my local dealer and get back with me. We'll see.... |
Please let me know what you hear. I am buying mine in Kansas City through Shreveport. They told me they expected the license "in hand" two weeks ago. You can reach me at carl-wolfe@att.net. Thanks.

Hello Paul,
I hope you are fine! If it's not too much trouble, could you check on #216? Thanks Gianni

I have #275 coming out of Larchmont, ( I am in CT and closer to the Hartford studio , less then 5 miles) Fiat kept changing my Studio, at this point I am leaving it alone until someone calls me with a car. Alfredo claims he was all set to sell Fiat's, cars are in Virginia and on the way ( that was a week ago)
I think two things are happening, 1. I know Hartford does not have its License in order yet, I suspect Larchmont similar, 2. I noticed they are both scheduled to be open 3/31. Hartford has made the three for stock cars disappear and only the marketing cars are around. I am sure no PE will be delivered before the 31st. ( my opinion) at this point its hurry up and wait......

I spoke to Alfredo in Larchmont a few weeks ago and he told me he as a licence so there is no problem there. I also noticed some photos on line of Alfredo getting cars (both prima and non). Alfredo is an original Fiat and Alfa Romeo dealer - and a great guy.

This is whats required to get a certificate in CT to sell a Manufacturers Motor Vehicle .
http://www.ct.gov/dmv/cwp/view.asp?A=799&Q=260368 I am not saying anything negative about Alfredo, He has been extremely helpful and nice to me. He has called me numerous times regarding my PE and I would be very happy to take delivery of my Prima ( some 80 plus miles from my home) so thats not my point, Something is holding up the deliveries. I was told by the New Fiat studio manager in Hartford that when they got the KIA franchise , the license was ready the day they opened for business. If NY is anything like the CT DMV then everything happens at a snail pace. And since the last Fiat was sold some 25 years ago , who know what documents my have to be renewed.

Well the Austin rep, Matt, is supposed to fly in and sell 2 Primas tomorrow...one to me, one to Jim.
Kinda nervous...6 years since I've had a car...12 years since I bought a car...and I'm buying a car I haven't even test drove...CRAZY. Oh well, every review says the 500 is a blast to drive, so that isn't an issue...the crazy tall passenger seat is, but then this is really a commuter car and dinner out on the town with the wife car...and she is only 5'4"....so I can live with that. The car is tiny, which I love...I don't need a ton of steel around me to commute to work...but after riding scooters or bicycles for so long, well it was a bit claustrophobic sitting in the demo 500 :) Gavin |
I guess If I don't want to wait anymore I can drive up to Kelly Fiat in Danvers ( Peabody) MA, and buy a Prima off the lot, they have a grey and 2 reds......

Yep. I think one of them is my former PE 311. The other red I think does not have a sunroof. Are they asking sticker for the PE's?

Went and saw my Prima today for first time! There she was along with another red Prima, a gray Prima, and two white Primas. Interestingly enough one of the white Prima's had no name on it?
Anyways, we have to wait for Power Fiat in South bay to get their Computers running before we can do paperwork. Before this delay we were waiting for their license to come through, which happened on Monday. One of the Prima's in the lot was damaged, broken out headlight and scratched bumper. They said it happened in transport and said they couldn't get the spare parts or something to fix it. So yet another weekend without my car! Guido #332 Red Prima DSCN4475.JPG

I am happy to know! I got an e-mail from Al and the paperwork is in process. I'm getting pre-authorization from my bank for a 2.99% loan to finance the $8850 balance ($20,350 minus the $11,500 they've offered for my MINI).
WOOT! (For some reason I can't log in.) Cindy aka PE#454 |

Kelly Fiat lists the cars on their website at Window sticker, I could I.D the Prima by the Vin's . I did call to verify available inventory and the Salesman said that some were sold, but they were expecting many more cars for inventory, they did list a Expresso and a Verde car.
