It was in the mod 80s yesterday. Amazed by how quickly the AC cooled the car, though that could be at least partially because there isn't that much air to cool! :P

Well it's been a long, but satisfying day as my Prima is now safe in the garage. My wife and I drove to KC this morning and were at Fiat Olathe right at 11:00 AM. Fifteen minutes later I was out in my Prima driving back to Omaha. Quickest car purchase I have ever done. Signed 3 papers, handed over the check, and off I went. The first couple stop lights were a bit rough (it has been 3 years since I drove a stick), but 250 miles later when I pulled into my drive I had the hang of it. While we took the interstate down I took the back roads back… it took a bit longer to get home, but was worth it. I rushed everything because there were severe thunderstorms in the forecast so I wanted to get home ASAP.
I’m very impressed with the car. The ride is much smoother then my Smart Car. I was fly down the road doing 80 with no drama (the Smart Car at that speed is like holding on for dear life!) Only negative at this point was the inside of the car had a layer dust on it. Nothing a pack of Armor All Wipes didn’t fix, but still… one would think they would clean the car inside as well (outside looked great). Not sure what the deal was there. Anyway… it was great timing as my Fiat head rest covers came today (my cousin sent them from Europe) so my car looks even more special! |

I picked up my Bianco Prima Edizione 345 today between 11:00am and 12:00pm. My girlfriend named it "Alfredo". Larry from Fields FIAT got me a great financing deal and Tom showed me all the features of the car. We spent a few minutes pairing my Android phone, but managed it without much trouble. The car was flawless. We motored around Winter Park and home to Lake Mary and had lots of people pointing and a even few phone photos taken. We took a stack of business cards and handed them out to people who were interested. Six hours after delivery we attended our first car show where we received a lot of great comments and questions about the car. People really seemed to like it. The white and black colors look very sharp, I'm very happy with the choice.
I'll post my impressions and more photos soon.

Happy Motoring! With the picture I can now recognize Tom M.. He has always been up in the Internet Sales department when I've been out there. Now the question will be to drive the Fiat Mon/Wed/Fri and the Mini Tues/Thu/Sat/Sun or the reverse or combination. Decisions, decisions... |

I got a call today, after I left work.
FROM THE WRONG DEALER. Yes, my car is not in Shreveport, but in Memphis. Why, you ask? That's what I'd like to know. When I got my first call from Fiat (seems like eons ago), they wanted to know where I wanted it delivered. They said the nearest dealership would be Memphis. At the time I said OK, but, as soon as I got things squared with my local dealer and the Shreveport dealer, I called Fiat back to tell them to change it, which they said they did. Then a couple of weeks or so later I called back again to confirm that it would be delivered to Shreveport. They confirmed that's where they had my car listed as going. Aldric in Shreveport, who has been emailing me my car's itinerary that shows destination Shreveport (and nothing about Memphis) called the port today to see if my car had come. No. And then, I get that call from the Memphis salesman that it's THERE. WTH, Fiat? How and why does such a seemingly simple thing become so complicated? So now my car is now just 2.5 hours from me, when it was supposed to be 3.5 hours from me, but then to arrive 4.5 miles from me. Even though it's now closer, it's become more complicated to get it. Two of the three ways to get from Memphis to Shreveport (by highway, at least) involve going through Little Rock, so something will have to be worked out. I guess I will find out tomorrow. |

AWESOME!!! I gather from reading elsewhere Alfredo is an 'old timer' with Fiats so you are no doubt expecting a flawless delivery. I guess we'll hear from you in a month or so about your exploits. |

Thanks everyone! Yes, my work has just begun!
I have my wheels sitting in my garage for the past week. I had one in my living room for a while, but moved it to keep peace with my wife. Spent a couple of hours, moving stuff around in the garage. I have an X1/9, a GTV6 and a motorcycle on "my side" of a 2 car garage (my wife has her car and 2 motorcycles on her side). The X1/9 goes outside and I'll park next to the Alfa somehow.

Thanks...ha, I just realized that yesterday I put more miles on my scooter, 353 miles, than I still have on my Fiat, 300 miles total so far.
I will be taking the car on a trip with the wife up to the hot springs in Ojo Calente this weekend...so that should get her mileage up over 500...still won't be as many miles as I put on my scooter yesterday and today, but close. Gavin |

I got a call yesterday from a woman representing Fiat. She wanted to know how the purchase process went and did I have any questions. I explained how I drove to Concord New Hampshire from Vermont to pick up my car from the dealer in Portland, Maine. My only displeasure was not having the flatbed transportation available. My salesman was fine and I couldn't be happier with the car. Just an observation - whenever I contact or have contact with Fiat they have a Canadian accent. Eh?
