Yes, PE #23 is enroute to Sarasota and is now in North Carolina with stops in Orlando and Fort Pierce. ETA Friday. I'm taking my Alfa to the west coast tomorrow to participate in a Florida Alfa Club event then shoot up to Sarasota for some photos and PDI the car myself. I'll drive back to the west coast some time next week to pick it up. Happy days!

That's great news Fred. Is there any way I can help make this easier for you?
I am still up in the air about the Collier Museum. Usually a 10am meeting would require an overnight stay for me but I have done early before. I'm sure I could bring you over during the week too if we can get together around Ft Lauderdale. |
Thanks for the offer Mike!
I've got a buddy down from NY who's going to take me there next week. I'll take lots of photos - hope there is an unveiling.

Right Gavin re this "reporting." They take a few selective quotes, many out of context.

And they only use the negative posts. Slanted biased reporting with an agenda.

Just so we're clear, there is no "reporting," as this is neither a reporter nor from a legitimate news source. And what is his "agenda"? This guy is waiting for his Prima like many people here.
I'm not defending his methods (or his sloppy, poorly written post). |

Hi all. I was out for a few hours, so didn't weigh in. I understand how angry and upset you all are for being quoted/misquoted, taken out of context, etc. I would ask that we dial the tone back a couple of notches, and prefer we not us real names here. I do realize it was done to make a point. This stuff stays around forever on the internet and can take on a life of its own, beyond the context of this discussion. So I deleted the comment because: The point was made (and pretty forcefully), and we all voiced our opinion. I think we can safely say we didn't appreciate being used like that. Now let's get back to our topic! PS: When I delete a comment, all the comments associated with it go. Sorry about that. You might have to repost some.

Thanks Guys! I got a laugh out of the MINI comment. If other people can wait, then I can wait. I'm like anyone else. Hey, who knows, maybe I'll be the last one delivered. That would be a distinction! LOL Seriously, I know what you are all going through... I'll go through it with you.

Maybe yours is taking longer, Chris, because Fiat is putting the Abarth engine in yours :)
That and Laura is delivering it herself :) Gavin |

I just lost quite a bit of respect for you. But, it's your party, so do what you want, I guess. |
I spoke to the Area Advocate for the northeast area about the car sitting on a lot where the dealer has no license,, he is working on a a plan to make the deal through one of the licensed dealers in my state. Im patiently waiting on the details of that plan.

Hi,
I just cancelled my order for #210, a Grigio with sunroof. It is available at Kelly Fiat in Peabody MA, about 20 miles north of Boston. The car is great and would recommend Kelly. David was my salesman and he was very good to deal with. I think they have other PEs on the lot available too. I should not have checked the sunroof box when I ordered it. The combination of the lower roof due to the sunroof and the increased passenger seat height due to the subwoofer didn't help with my decision. It is a great car and has a lot of things going for it so you probably haven't seen the last of me... Good luck, Jon |

I'm sorry you feel that way, but I am not comfortable reading a post naming someone and discussing the specifics of a persons divorce, legal issues and other personal affairs on a forum that is about cars. CapNCrunch, I appreciate your comments here, and don't like to delete stuff. I think if you re-read my post, you'll see I tried to preserve your point, while giving you the courtesy of an explanation. -Chris

Chris, I moderate a forum too, and it is impossible to please everyone. I think you made the right call.

I agree as the moderator its your call, you should always adhere to the intended tone of the forum, and not allow others to sway you from that..
Typically when one of my posts gets deleted or edited, I am just happy I didnt get banned :) |

Hey Gavin, when you go public on a high-profile public Web site that's reportable news. Deal with it. I did track down and speak with Prima poster Valdimir and others you may have failed to notice. And to the Fiat dealers in Shreveport, Kansas City and Fiat's help line. I also tracked the cars to specific locations and reported on their storage fees.
You're missing the larger point; outside of KC Confidential no other media - including this blog - has written any stories/done any reporting on the obvious misstep by Fiat. Look, I understand, you got yours so everything's fine. But many people, unable to work the excellent schmooze you did, remain in limbo. And that's still news. People need to realize that when you go online or Facebook and post things, that's up for grabs. Uh, that's news, my man. It's a different world today. How about a shout out to all the media who have sat this news dance out and not reported a thing? My hunch is you'd be cheering me on if your car was still bouncing around parts unknown. And if you feel a tad "violated," buck up. Who the heck knows who Gavin is? It's not like the CIA's gonna find you, dude. |
Oh yeah, I ran the alternative newsweekly in Kansas City for many years and wrote a column in the Kansas City Star for 16 years. The site attracts more than a quarter million unique visitors a month and more than 7 million page views. With a full complement of advertisers.
