Gavin, following your car is reminding me of playing "Where in the world is Carmen Sandiego"!
Hope it all goes well!

Ha...actually HA...

It is good to know I am entertaining people across the country :)

If it moves from Santa Rosa (home of the wonderful Blue Hole), let me know if it keeps going East or turns South....

Thanks

Paul, thank you thank you!  Kent is very close to us, probably the rail terminal.  Now I just have to find out how to get it.  Hope the dealer gets in gear enough to deliver this car ASAP!!!!

Paul, Thank You so very much. So good to hear some news - any news - and knowing our car is making positive progress and is enroute is even better. My delivery dealer also confirmed that our #011 is headed Eastbound from Toledo. Got quite a scare this morning when the Fiat information people (at the 888 number I called) told me that yes, indeed, I will be happy to hear that my Prima is on a train bound for Beaverton, Oregon. Not at all what I wanted to hear considering I'm in SE PA. Ugh! And Whew!

Jeff/#446: Seems our cars are traveling companions. Where are you located and which delivery dealer did you use?

Funny, just got off the phone with the Fiat people and they stated that had no idea where my car was but that is was on a train.  They at least had my dealer right.

I pointed out that someone has already gotten their Prima and she didn't actually believe me.  I pointed her to this awesome forum and also shared that the elusive bezel is just gray.  ;o)

She stated that by next week my dealer should be contacting me and that they're still targeting mid-March for Prima deliveries.

How hard can it be to have an informed information line?

Paul,
Thank you, that means my car is not that far from the dealer 1 to 1.5 hrs.  Awesome!  Now if they will only call me.  i hope it dosen't end up at the Chevy cruze plant.  Lol.

Even though some of the cars may be close to the final dealers, I doubt that they will release them immediately. I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think that the final list of customers were given out to any dealers. The only reason I know what we have coming to us is by checking our inbound list of cars. I still don't have the contact info for the customers from FIAT. I'm waiting for our FIAT rep to get back to me with that.

Actually, MINI followed the BMW system. I recall ordering one of my first BMW and following its progress through a BMW owner's experience website. But then you know how Germans how when it come to efficiency. lol!

I bough a Mini as well, and their information through the whole process was excellent.  By the way the Mini is a British car.

More German than it is British though.

It's amazing the joy that one man can bring to so many with just a piece of paper and passion for his job.

Thanks!

The Mini is British in name only. The ownership, engineering, and business end is all German.

Hey Shaun, I'm in Bucks County, taking delivery from Reedman Toll Auto World.  Interestingly, when I called them last week the receptionist said that she didn't think they had the Fiat brand yet.  Where are you taking delivery?

Hi Jeff. I'm in Berks (Douglassville). For exactly the example you cited, I'm avoiding that dealership you mention. I actually drove up there to meet with them in person a month or two ago, and have tried continuously to reach out to them since then, but even at this late stage in the game, nobody up there ever seems to have a....well, I'll stop myself there out of politeness. I'll be getting #011 from Criswell in Gaithersburg MD. Three hours from here versus one for a closer dealer, but they have been very responsive, courteous, helpful, and, well, perhaps most importantly, INTERESTED - in the brand and in doing what they can for Fiat enthusiasts. They even hosted a club meeting at their then-in-progress facility last month. I've personally visited many of the local dealerships and my choice was not an easy one, but it was a clear one.

Do you have other Italian cars? Are you a member of FLU? Great club, and we have a great chapter here in Eastern PA/Southern NJ/Delaware.

For anything off-list, you can get my email from my website, link below.

Good luck and I look forward to meeting you (and your Prima!) someday.

Best regards,
Shaun
