Better yet, have it sent to Milwaukee and I'll personally drive it down to you!

Also, I think I heard the K.C. dealer (Olathe, KS) is handling Primas--that would be closer than Memphis. Or Phoenix? Or Salt Lake?

Gavin,

How about this...have it delivered in Los Angeles (Motor Village LA) then drive around LA, show off the car in Hollywood, Beverly Hills, then take a nice road trip back to NM?

Disclaimer: I do not work for Motor Village LA.

Well I did email Austin, Memphis and Los Angeles...lets see what happens...

Not trying to be a complainer...I don't think that's what I am...was just taken by surprise and I also already had all the finances figured out...

If the deal is suddenly more expensive...well I probably won't buy...but that is my decision and not a statement on Fiat.

Sorry to hear that Gavin. I think you have a right to be upset, to say the least. Did Fiat say WHY Elpaso or a closer dealer is not "authorized?" Will Fiat pay to have your car shipped halfway across the country?
They should.
You've been here so long seeing you drop out would be like losing a member of the family.

Gavin
ha...thanks

talking to Fiat now (on hold...yeah for crappy pop music :) )

Memphis had no idea about my car...just talked to a nice gentleman...he seemed surprised too...he would have to travel with the car for my home delivery...2000 miles to sell a car is real far.

Gavin

edit...so the Fiat rep has just transfer my dealer to Austin (so far I've gone from El Paso dealer to Memphis dealer to Austin dealer...soon I might set a record of some sort)...so closer...still far---700 miles vs 1000.  And I still don't have any info on delivery...and now I feel bad for seeming to diss Memphis.

Oh well. Austin should call me in a day or two and I can get some info and go from there.

Maybe Laura and Sergio will drive it out to you? What a great buddy road-trip movie that would be!

In keeping with the 500 "small" theme you should serve out of those mini airline bottles.

I don't have a Trader Joe's near me, but I believe it's now Three-Buck Chuck (doesn't quite have the same ring, does it?)

Gavin, I think Fiat should fly your car in and drop it with a parachute in front of your house.

I think they could use a helicopter, paint it to look like a stork, and hang the 500 underneath in a blanket.

With how small and light the 500 is, they could use a regular stork and save money on paint.

Re: The First Person to get their Prima....

Hey guys,
I would just like to take a second to introduce myself, my name is Paul and I'm the studio lead for Fields FIAT of Highland Park (northern suburb of Chicago). I, just like most of you guys here, am SUPER EXCITED to get get the 500's here ASAP. (Can't wait to get one as a demo, as they are a ton of fun to drive!)

I was messing around in chryslers dealer site and noticed a couple days ago that the Prima customers are showing in our inbound inventory. As i finally had some free time today I checked the VIN numbers in VinVision (Chrysler's tracking program) and noticed that the majority of the Prima cars that we are getting are already in Illinois at the Belvidere lot, about 30 miles northeast of Chicago!

Also I'm not sure if all you guys have your VIN numbers, but it looks like they are 3C3CFFBR6CT500XXX with the last three xxx's representing your Prima number.

Would you mind trying the one that ends in 087? :D

I jumped to conclusions cause when i put the whole VIN that i said earlier it didn't work with 087, but when i did just the last 8 it pulled it up. Disregard the entire VIN thing

It says the current location is Reisor, LA!

Re: The First Person to get their Prima....

I would still take that information with a grain of salt. Seeing the vehicle tracking in action with previous chrysler products, i learned that it's not entirely accurate all the time. I've had cars get delivered to us and the next day it still showed that it was sitting in some storage yard. But it's better than nothing.

Wow Gavin, what a soup sandwich!  I'm sorry to see you go through all these twists and turns.  Man, I hope it works out after all this. Keep us informed...
