In depth video of Sport/demo car

Minuszka
I hope you enjoy looking at this and maybe it answers some questions ( certainly not about the "bezel" though )
I didn't know about the buttons on the back of the steering wheel or the led license plate lights...

Nice video you found!

Unless it's a color balance issue (doubt it), that Russo red looks fabulous, a touch of blue in the red and it's a lovely shade of it too. Love it.

This video clears up some things I've been noticing, like the headlight switch, it's a 2 position switch, not a typical 3 position switch where you have off, park and headlight.

I had heard that the volume and seek buttons were on the back but not sure of which side of the wheel.

As for the Aux/USB, I saw a shot taken from a FiatUSA video where they introduce the car at the junket and a clip within shows the USB/AUX jacks in the glove box, that is for cars that have the Blue & Me otherwise, just the AUX jack.

Had no idea the license plate lights are LED, are the side marker as well?

Anyway, a nice overview of the car.

I think that is not Rosso but Rosso Brilliante.

sjmst,

Unless I'm mistaken, the Russo Brilliante is metallic, the Russo is not and from the video, it looked to be the non metallic Russo.

Depending on how they apply the paint and how deep the metallic flakes are in the paint, it'll affect the overall shade of red, making it darker or brighter and from what I have been able to gather, the Brilliante is lighter shade with perhaps a deeper intensity but I suspect both versions will be clear coated for extra protection and for additional shine.

The "Brilliante" as I see it in pics is more a pearlescent, not so much a metallic. Thus it would be hard to make out in a video. The car in this video had that ever so slight pinkish hue that I see in brilliante in bright light. Rosso lookes more like orange in bright light. I could be wrong, it is very hard to tell.

I will post photos of that car later, but it appeared to be a metallic paint. Still, the sales guy who went to LA for the training said that he only saw Rossos so far never the Rosso Brillante. We couldn't verify the color, there was nothing on the door sill that would have offered identification.

I checked Chris's infor and Fiat sent both Rosso and Rosso Brilliante testers, so this car could have been either. If I had to bet, I'd say brilliante.

Here are some photos from today. Same car as on the video. As you can see, depending the light, the color is appearing slightly differently.

Yeah, one of the problems we are experiencing is some of the photos show the red over exposed due to too much light shining on it and it's how the camera reads red and red tends to be a difficult color to render electronically.

The other thing, if I'm not mistaken, pearlescent white has the pearl like effect where the white changes color from a white to more of a blue white etc depending on the light and the angle you view it. Remember back in around 1986, Chevrolet had a pearlescent blue paint, a metallic blue with a pearlescant clear coat over it that deepens the color, but also causes the blue to look more purple in the right conditions, it was very cool, sadly, like many GM cars of the day, it didn't hold up very well.

The Pearlescent white (Funky White in Europe) is much the same, with the pearl effect in the special clear coat. I believe it's an extra cost option if you select it in the configurator if I recall right, both the Russo and Russo Brilliante were not extra cost paints and for a long time metallic paint was considered an extra cost option for paint.

From all the photos taken of the studio fixtures here, it looks like some paints ARE metallic to me anyway the blue for instance, as is the brown amongst other paint colors and Russo Brilliante from what I can see looks to be metallic as well, a fine metallic at that, but the best thing is to really look at the 2 colors even if just on the display board as they will be the actual paints used during production and I'm sure what we have here is a standard red paint (most likely with clear coating) and a metallic version of the same (also with clear coating) as clear coating is virtually standard now on all new cars particularly within the past 15-20 years for a variety of reasons.

Yeah, I watched it again, and that's definitely a Rosso (I'm almost 100% sure). I've sat in both for fairly long periods of time at LA Motor Village, and the Brillante looks a bit different ( with an almost rich glittery shine). I wish I had some pictures under similar lighting conditions.

I am also fairly certain that the dealer would have some information of the actual color they received.

I know as far as the light switch it only had two options...daylight running lights and actual headlight modes.  In most cars the daylight running lights are 30-40% less intense than the real headlights used for night time driving.  The headlights by the way are quite bright.

I am looking forward to finding some headlight protectors for the car.  Most, if not all of the issues with modern cars headlights dimming as they age is due to the lens getting dull and cloudy.  The one reason for this is from the micro impact of road dirt and sand which cause the clouding. So even with new bulbs the light is still not bright cause it still has to pass through the same cloudy lens.  Hence the need for headlight protectors, now if I can find someone that makes custom ones for the Fiat.

Oh as for the radio controls on the back of the steering wheel...it is featured on the Android phone app.  There are all sorts of little features that are on that program.  Most of them are pretty self explanatory, but the radio controls are a nice touch.  Not wanting to live without this feature, as my wife's Honda Fit lacks it, and it is very inconvenient to mess with the audio controls while driving.

" I am also fairly certain that the dealer would have some information of the actual color they received. " - they didn't have one yesterday, I've asked and we've looked.
By this morning I got an email that it is the Rosso Brillante. So, there you have it, now we know. It was a metallic paint. So, I don't know how different the PE Rosso will be...?

We have seen the Rosso. Looks slightly orangey in bright light, but deeper in dimmer light. See below.
The car in the video had what looks to me like a pinkish hue. That's how I could tell.

I guess I was wrong :/

I'm going to post a video in HD with both kinds of rosso, so that you can have a bit of an idea. However, I remember the brillante being in a slightly darker area of the store, so it's not an ideal point of reference.

However, the majority of the video will be of the regular rosso (this I can promise you), and odds are FIAT did not create a new shade just for the PE. Also, I wonder if the pictures we were sent of the PE had the cars wrapped in a protective film for transport (I saw some like this at MV) thus changing the color a bit.

I'll post a link soon!

Here's a video I edited quickly, so please pardon the rough editing and camera shake.

(sorry, it's not quite HD)

Hope it helps give you an idea of the regular rosso.

Nice. I take it the one in the foreground in the beginning of the video is Rosso Brilliante? Also, that white car looks like the pearl finish.

Now....wait for it......

Where was the bezel in that interior video?

I don't remember for sure, but I think the car in the foreground you're talking about is a Rame. The only brillante was on the other side of the store in a dimly lit spot. The other car is Silver (I have a touch more footage on both), although the bright light makes it look a bit white.

As for the bezel...
