Dumb question

spindoc
So how do I get the data from my flash drive into my computer to be analyzed?  No program opens automatically when I plug the USB drive back into my Mac, and when I start the ecoDrive application I'd previously downloaded, it just asks me to create a profile, which I already did before putting the drive in the car in the first place.

I can see that there's data on the flash drive, but I don't see how to get to it.  Sorry for the dumb question, but can anybody help?  Thanks in advance.

With the program open, insert the usb drive. The program should say it found new data. It will ask what profile do you want to associate the data with.

Hi Spindoc,

You will need to completely wipe any remnants of the old Euro version of Eco Drive.  And with the apple you will need to either know how to do this manually.  Or in my case and in Thad's case, we both downloaded the free app called "AppZapper".  You can use it for free trial for 5 times, and then you will have to pay for the app.  Once you do this you will need to just save the data part of the USB drive on to the computer or onto another drive.

Then you will have to download the new US version of Eco Drive and install it in the computer.  Then download the new program onto your wiped flash or a new flash.  Then follow the instructions when installing it in the car.  When that is done, you can take out the USB and plug it back into the computer and then add the old data to the new USB and it should take it and you should be able to run the program.

A simpler way is just to have a "virgin" computer, which is free of the Euro version.  And then just download the US version on it.  It is a matter completely wiping any and all parts of the Euro version from the computer.  Once that is done, it is pretty easy.  Hope this helps.

Thanks guys.  Once I re-entered all my profile info it recognized the data.  (I hadn't previously tried the Euro version so that wasn't a factor.)

By the way, those are some really low shift points they're recommending.  Maybe I'll try driving that way for a week, if I don't get run off the road by people behind me wanting to go faster.

It'll be funny to leave the ecoDrive on for my next autocross.  I expect my eco:Index that day will be in the single digits....

The low shifts are interesting to do when you are not in a hurry.  Driving around 33 mph in 5th gear around town is something most cars can't do, but the multiair seems to be able to handle it.  I find it almost as fun when it traffic to accelerate at ecomode recommended shift points, as I do when I let the revs go up high.

I have a Mac PowerPC G4, using OS 10.5.8.
Even though the eco:drive specs say it will work on a PowerPC, it apparently doesn't.
Eco:drive uses the latest version of Adobe Air, which isn't compatible with the non-Intel PowerPC.
As a workaround, I tried downloading Adobe Air 1.5, but the Eco:drive software wouldn't recognize it.
I called Fiat Customer Service.  The rep was unaware of the problem, but promised to get back to me later this week.
In the meantime, anyone know of a workaround?
I also read that eco:drive is supposed to work on an iPad and iPhone.
But I couldn't download the software to either device, either thru iTunes or to each device.
