Side Marking Light

Terry
Hi Everyone!

Was just wondering if the side marking light on the front fenders is just a reflector or if it comes on with the lights or flashes when the turn signal is activated?

They should turn on. You can tell especially at night, if you look at the inside part of your side mirrors.  You should see the reflection of the light.  If not something is wrong with the lights.

Thanks Giallo & JV. But besides coming on do they flash to indicate a turn?

No the side marker lights don't flash as there is a repeater turn signal  just in front of the mirrors on the front fenders for that purpose instead and ONLY work when you turn on the turn signal or the 4 way hazard flashers, a typical Euro feature, but many domestic trucks and SUV's now have them, especially in or on the mirrors themselves.

This feature is actually referred to as a repeater light in general and is NOT required here in the states, but is allowable if equipped as they are on the Fiat.

And I should say that they will come on when you turn on the headlight switch, along with all the other exterior lights, including the headlights. The headlights, BTW, only work with the ignition turned on at the very least and I don't know if the side marker lights are lit with LED's or filament bulbs but someone DID indicate in a full walk around of the Fiat on a YouTube video that the license plate lamps are LED so can't say if that's true or not but suspect they might be.
