This looks great, thanks! How about Red with black?

I like the OEM stripe better.
You can remove the stripe and put on your own if you like. I doubt there is any extra value in a "Prima". |

Now I'm thinking about how much better the black mirrors look with the stripe instead of them floating in the middle of the car. I would love to see them in person before making up my mind, but I think I'm about 50/50.

So nice to know I am not the only one obsessing about this.

Me too! Just realized yesterday that no black stripe might mean black mirrors floating on the car. If memory serves me right, black mirrors is an option on the UK configurator. |
Good point. Maybe a SMALL stripe?

Not bad. A little more understated.
Well one thing to remember, either with the sunroof option or the painted black roof, the black mirror will echo the roof color and not feel so lost. I'm wondering whether the black mirrors revert to body color if one opts out of the stripe. I can't remember from the factory video Chris posted a while back, but if the mirror casing is already connected to the door when they paint, it may make more sense to keep them body color if the stripe is not being added |
Exactly, the black mirror will still match the roof. Good question, RE the color of mirrors w/o stripe.

I think the black mirrors might be a part of the Prima package, so I'm guessing they'll stay on. If you go to the fiat500.com configurator you'll be able to add the black mirrors, and they don't look as out of place as I thought they might.
I still feel like I don't need to over-advertise the fact that this is a special edition car by adding stripes or decals. The smaller badge might just be enough for me. That said, I do like the black on black play, and the way it matches the roof. Also, maybe trusting FIAT with the design their own Special Edition car might be a good thing. Maybe I'll keep it.

That what I was thinking. Also, love those wheels!

Remember folks, these are special cars. There's only going to be 500 of them in the whole country. I spoke with a fiat rep earlier this week about the stripe and other things. The "550" logo on the stripe will only be for the Primas, anybody other than the Prima owners will get a stripe similar to that in the configuator. Also, there maybe more options available when we are asked to come in to order our cars, possibly heated seats, leather and what not.
I do like the stripe that Gavin photshoped onto the cars. maybe Chris can contact someone higher up at Fiat and suggest it instead of or with the broad stripe. Allthough, Prima Edizione should be on the stripe instead of just Prima, butthat's just my opinion. Take care everyone.

Thanks for the info. I guess Fiat has to balance the owner's wishes for personalization and options against retaining the Prima's identity. It could get to the point where the only thing unique about the Prima is the badge!

Hi Folks!
I'm going through these threads and am gathering questions/concerns/opinions and will present them to my contacts. The opinions here do not fall upon deaf ears, and I encourage everyone to join the conversation. I know Fiat values feedback. I think Sam is correct about the balancing act. The car is a special edition and has to retain its identity. It's going to be tough to please everyone.

Thanks Chris for mentioning that the PE's are special cars. I myself am well aware that this is a rare car and has to be seperated from the pack, now and into the future. i'm glad to see we are on the same page.
Thanks for all of your hard work on this site. Craig

Well, not too surprising Ebay UK has a nice assortment of lower body stripes for the 500.
A couple of them look like a great alternative to the large top stripe that seems to be standard on the Prima. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/RACING-STRIPES-FIAT-500-DECAL-Kit-Stickers-Side-Arbarth-/400072079165?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item5d2627773d http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Fiat-500-style-stripes-stickers-decals-/160322641668?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2553f95f04
