Just for giggles, I looked on Edmunds used car ratings for actual consumer reviews of a certain marque.
Out of 36 reviews, I found these four remarks: "I did have a rattle in the roof above the passenger sun visor which was fixed after the second time, but other than that it has been a blase to drive." "I noticed little black and orange metal particles stuck to the paint in a few places. Rail dust. They're tiny, you have to be looking for them. If successfully removed by dealer, then I would rate this car pretty high" "The gearbox is lazy sometimes and the cylinder deactivation can get really annoying when trying to quickly overtake" "Negative parts, the rear brakes started to squeal even before 1k and hearing interior rattle noises" The car? 2010 Honda Accord. The point? Any car, in fact every car, has defects. Yes, Fiat has to try harder, and yes, Honda will get a "pass" on defects while Fiat will not. But zero defects will never happen,

Bravissimo! I wish I knew more and correct Italian, but you get the point. |

Couldn't agree more. The dealer I purchased my 500 from is 2 1/2 hours from Orlando. I couldn't be happier with the purchase process or the resolution of delivery issues (only two and one already taken care of). There is a continuing issue and WE are working the issue. Sunset Fiat of Sarasota seems like the antithesis of the dealer out in LA (Motor Village LA) who seems to be giving Fiat TWO black eyes with regard to customer service and resolving issues. We should be getting a second Fiat dealer here in Orlando by around the end of July, not to mention that it is just up the road from where I live. I will seriously consider getting my Fiat serviced there rather than the 1st dealer I dealt with here in Orlando. |
I nearly picked mine up in Sarasota but it got shipped to Ft Lauderdale even though I requested the change because to the $500 extra profit fee. I did not get charged the fee so I took delivery here.
I was willing to wait an extra week and drive across the state to get my car. I really want a 500C and an Abarth and an Alfa... Paul L at the dealership in the Chicago area will likely get my future sales because he was so helpful to all of us AND they only charge a $155 extra profit fee. That will buy lots of Chicago hot dogs and pizza while leaving plenty of money for gas on the way home. BTW, are you going to Freakout? |
I'd really like to, BUT it's a LONG drive for one day at my age and physical condition. Not to mention being retired means having to double check the finances. $119 a night x 4 nights + Gas + Food + boarding for two dogs x 5 days. And I'd say about another $100 or so if you want to take some of the planned excursions offered by FLU. I'm still sitting on the fence is the best answer I can give you at the moment. |
