John.... Thanks a lot. I wondered about that, given the fact that the name ATT kept being displayed right at start-up. Hopefully this is something that gets streamlined as time goes on? Crossing fingers. Until then, thanks for the mute button tip.

Although... wait a sec... if you press the mute button, then doesn't that mean that the phonebook is *not* being recopied when you start the car, since, ostensibly, you're not answering "yes" when the B&M system asks whether you want to copy the phonebook?

The message that I mute to get rid of says " your contacts have not been automatically copied to your phone book to add contacts manually..."  When my Net 10 card runs out I may switch providers and phones so that the phone book will load each and every time.

This AM called ATT about this. The issue is not the provider.  They put me through to Apple. The technician I spoke checked around and came back to tell me that the issue does not lie with Apple but B&M. Somehow, it's on their end that the compatability with (in my case) iPhone 4 needs to be addressed.

If anyone else got their iPhone 4 to connect without downloading the contacts at each startup, please let me know.

Iphone4 here.  B&M downloads and updates new contacts without any intervention on my part.  Verizon, though the carrier shouldn't matter.

AT&T iPhone 4 here. Connects at startup just fine, just takes a while until phone book is ready (700 or so contacts). If I need to make a call before it's finished with the phonebook sync, I just dial on the phone and select Blue n' Me as the...is it..."input source" (iPhone, Phone speaker, Blue n' Me, Garmin). Still doesn't understand my voice commands worth a damn, though!

Thanks for that input! After reading both of your experiences, I decided that something was amiss in my set-up procedure. So here's what I did:

1. Went into the B&M settings and deleted all user data.
2. Went to my phone and deleted the B&M device from the bluetooth menu
3. Re-paired the phone and... now, YESSSSSS! it works like it's supposed to, and the B&M no longer gives me the "Welcome" spiel and "Do you want to copy the phonebook" at *each* ignition start-up. Everything is fully automatic, and all I can say is... wow! This is just the lap of luxury.

While my phone is a dinosaur compared to an Iphone, I'm pretty convinced to see what B&M will do with it.

had the same issue with my (Sprint) Samsung Galaxy S and had to do the same proceedure.  Since then, I had to do it again a couple of times.  Not a problem, but a pain.  I think it's a phone issue not a B&M issue.

The one thing I can't do is get the SMS TXT messages to be read via B&M.  IS there a patch or some fix available?  Or is it an issue with Sprint/Samsung?

Check your phone documentation to see if it says anything but not all phones support their texts being read by systems such as B&M. Fiat even states that not ALL phones will be fully supported, based on the phones feature set and what they allow or don't.
