That person is mis-informed, you cannot transfer your Prima reservation. Knowing Craigslist, it could be a  scam, too.

Nothing would stop you from going through with the purchase then selling the car with low miles...

It would be pretty tough to make any profit on this transaction (after taxes, etc.). Besides, once you drive it off the lot, it's a used car.

I guess I was wrong about not making much profit on flippping this car:

I bought a SMART in Jan 08, drove it 3,000 miles and sold it in July sight unseen for more than I paid for it including tax, fees etc. It can happen.

I do not miss that car.....

Yup.  For the first two years of the NHW20 Prius's life (2004-2005), used cars were commanding up to a $5000 premium over equivalent new cars, simply because of demand.   This is a car with a similar amount of hype and which is also similarly unique, and that's even before considering that the Prima Edizione is a rare collector's edition.

Re: Prima on Craigslist!

Somebody can buy a Grey Prima with sunroof in 2 years when the electric comes out :) It will have been garage kept and probably have less than 7500 miles on it.

(maybe quite a bit less than that...i only put 6 thousand miles a year on my scooters and bicycle...and I will still be riding those many, if not most, days....so my Prima might only have a couple thousand miles on her in two years time...of course she might be soooo fun to drive that I forget my scooters...but that is unlikely...oh sure she will be fun to ride in the mountain twisties and around town...but that is where my scooter shine too...and I will always bicycle to work in the summer months...good exercise and cheap.)

Gavin, that is so awesome. I used to ride my bike upward of 20 miles a day when I was younger.  Now I live on a huge mountain and it takes the fun out of just jumping on my bike and riding.  I have to load up the bike rack and go to a park or trail. Still fun, but it's hard to be spontaneous.
