Another interesting article

ciddyguy
Saturday, someone linked to a thread over on Fiat Scene where someone had linked to several mags/blogs who were at the big Fiat junket in San Diego recently and in the comments, someone linked to Kilometer Garage and an article from that same press junket and it had some great information on some of the changes like the headlights and how the filler door was moved 6 inches etc, but got ONE fact totally wrong.

The 1.4L Multiair motor. They say it's only available here in N. America when in fact, it's been available in most if not all markets the car is sold.

Otherwise a very good article and you can read it here.

The 1.4 L was around, but the Multiair is new. i believe it'd be true to be only available in the US.

You may well be right, I went back to the UK and Italy configurator and they both say 1.4L 100 16V, but not mentioning the Multiair. I guess that the specs are so similar it's easy to think they had the MultiAir too.

I know the motor itself isn't all that new, been around a while, the MultiAir came out in 2009 but some how I thought it had been introduced in Europe already as the 900CC TwinAir has.

I just hope Fiat can bring that little bugger State side soon.

Glad to know we get the MultiAir before Europe does.

However, that has never been mentioned until now so I have been mistaken that this has been offered prior to now.

Who'd da thunk?

Yes, sorry to leave out Canada. Underpants - that's a great joke!
Multiair, Twinair, multisomething... it's easy to get confused with those names.

Most of you have probably seen this one:

AWD 500 would be awesome! I love my '96 Outback but would totally love something smaller and more fuel-efficient in AWD.

Good post by someone on FerrariChat:

"Yep I have read nothing but very positive reviews as well. Check out some of the Laura Soave interviews with the automotive press in San Diego, the press all had opportunities to drive the cars and from what I saw it has all been very positive, really nice to see.

I'm with sjmst here, I dont think Fiat has truly begun the marketing of the car yet as they realize that alot of the dealers are not yet setup with their studios. I have been very impressed with Laura and Sergio just gets it. I think we have a new Fiat in town and I for one could not be happier. I actually took a ride to Alfredo's of Larchmont this am to see if there was any activity. Anyway, he has built a beautiful new Chrysler dealership and his old Chrysler dealership will become the new Fiat studio.

Reliability I believe is a non issue. These are not the days of flooding and untuned carbs. I went out today to start my Alfa which has been sitting outside under 2ft of snow since early Jan, started up immediately...ahhh the wonders of Bosch management systems.

Q1 2012 cannot get here soon enough, put me down for a Brilliante Rosso Abarth."
