A Fiat sighting in the wiild

ciddyguy
No, sadly, not a shiny new 500 but today at work I spotted a very rare sighting none the less.

While buying a little time at work, I looked out the window at the traffic at the adjacent road along side the building I service and the freeway just beyond and up the side street, I spotted a restored, light orange Fiat 850 Spider zip up the street, prolly giving its all to go fast up a mild incline as I could just barely hear it through the glass. :-)

Even in fairly rust deprived Puget Sound, these old Fiats are not all that common anymore, mostly I seem to spot old Alfa Romeo's, 124 Spiders an the very, very rare Yugo if I see any of them at all but hardly any of the 128's, 131/Brava, Strada/Ritmo, much less the 850 but then I spot this little 850 go zipping by. Oh, should mention I've seen two, restored vintage 500's, one on consignment, the other is parked outside a bistro in my neighborhood every now and then.

Nice!

Sadly, no photo as it took me by surprise.

I find it humorous that you are having trouble spotting a new Fiat 500 on the roads. Maybe your area doesn't have as many dealers open or there isn't as much interest. Here in Michigan, I am seeing Fiat 500s constantly, every day. On Wednesday I saw an Alfa Romeo Giulietta.

It really depends on where you are located. I haven't seen any - but my closest dealers are 60 miles away and just started delivering cars a week or so ago.  My Friend did spot three 500s back in November that were driven by Fiat engineers for evaluation. I kicked my self for missing that!

The dealer, Fiat of Kirkland isn't that far, about 30 minutes north of Seattle and I think more than anything, they just aren't where I've been, which is mostly in Bellevue where I work, or Capitol Hill where I live and recently have not been out much so am just more or less not seeing them as yet but don't know how many the dealer as sold and we were to have had another dealer in Seattle itself but apparently, they backed out as so far, no mention on their website AT ALL of having a Fiat dealer and Fiat of N. America doesn't even list them on the dealer list for Washington, just Fiat of Kirkland, Fiat of Tacoma and Fiat of Vancouver and that's it.
